SUMMARY


Responsible for establishing, implementing, and coordinating accounting systems; assuring the existence of and adherence to operating procedures for accounting related activities; coordinating the compliance with regulatory policy relating to account systems and practices; prepares related financial reporting. This role currently carries no supervisory duties.

Typical Schedule Full-time; Minimum of 40 hours per week required.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Manages the bank’s daily fund position and initiates the transfer of funds as required;
  • Prepares quarterly call report and other regulatory filings for the bank;
  • Records investment activity in the general ledger, the investment accounting system and other pertinent reports;
  • Prepare month end entries for prepaid expenses, payroll, profit-sharing, lender incentive, USDA premiums, and other pertinent entries;
  • Procures supplies for the Operations Center as well as other Bank areas;
  • Shares the Accounts Payable function with the Staff Accountant;
  • Reconciles various accounts on a daily and monthly basis;
  • Performs various duties within the holding company umbrella (i.e. taxes, dividends);
  • Responsible for regular analysis of municipal securities within the Bank’s investment portfolio;
  • Provides tracking and documentation for Regulation D on a monthly basis;
  • Utilize resources to gather and present information that the Finance Department needs in order to make informed decisions;
  • Serve as trained backup for all tasks and responsibilities of the Vice President Finance.
  • Work collaboratively with the CFO and Vice President Finance on interpreting and communicating financial results.
  • Routinely interface with employees and managers from other departments;
  • Participate in and/or complete all necessary bank training;
  • Required to maintain the strictness of confidentiality in all matters;
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures;
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:

COMPETENCIES

  • Familiarity with all banking applications as well as legal guidelines;
  • Excellent time management, judgment, decision-making and critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail;
  • Exceptional communication skills with an enhanced social perceptiveness and a service-oriented disposition;
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills;
  • Knowledge of computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and issues relating to the bank’s customers, policies, and personnel;
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, and meeting quality standards for services;
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance or commensurate experience.
