Job Summary:
Working with peers across the Accounting Team, the Senior Accountant will analyze information, maintain records, assist with accounting team duties, and provide prompt, courteous responses to inquiries or issues from clients, vendors, and lenders. The Senior Accountant should also be a skilled researcher and possess strong communication and computer skills in Microsoft Excel, and other common accounting software platforms. To succeed as a Senior Accounting Specialist, you should be committed to providing efficient, reliable support to internal and external customers. Core Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • On call or evening/weekend/holiday hours may be required for various incidents, events, and initiatives.
  • This is an in-office position with hybrid flexibility 1-2 days per week upon approval.
You would be responsible for:
  • Responsible for certain balance sheet reconciliations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and cash. Researches and resolves variances and corrects accounting as appropriate
  • Prepare, monitor, and maintain appropriate journal entries within accounting system
  • Implement consistent accounting policies and practices across all systems
  • Develop internal controls to maximize protection of company assets
  • Monitor bank accounts and maintain ACH files, bank statements and other account information
  • Manage local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Preparation of work papers supporting monthly close process
  • Perform analysis to support stakeholders’ Profit and Loss results
  • Provide management with monthly reporting on sales, expenses and various balance sheet accounts
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in accounting related role; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • General knowledge of various accounting, database, inventory management and payroll software packages helpful. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Net Suite a plus
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Experience in 135 Charter aviation, or travel services strongly preferred, but not necessary
  • Demonstrates and models’ strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and initiative to improve processes through automation or manual adjustments
  • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to work independently and prioritize work
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills with customers, stakeholders, and team members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent ability to understand and translate customer requirements and interact and cooperate with company employees in all departments
  • Creative strategic thinker able to meaningfully contribute to the development of the company’s short and long-term strategy
