We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Accountant to join a CPA firm's team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of professionals and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain an understanding of the firm's policies, procedures, and software applications
• Develop tax and accounting research techniques using various research sources available
• Run all aspects of an assurance job under the supervision of more experienced staff
• Complete assignments that receive points that are associated only with complex issues and not careless errors
• Demonstrate assertiveness and eagerness to take on new and challenging assignments
• Develop skills to become an advisor to clients by learning how to present advice to their Manager and Partners
• Learn how to do tax planning for clients, including projections and recommendation letters
• Keep abreast of current events, not just accounting and tax, through various news media
• Participate in the firm's Career Advisor Program

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of solid experience gained within a public accounting firm with little job movement
• Understanding of tax and experience with tax preparation, including individual, corporate, and partnership returns (a plus, not required)
• Ability to analyze financial statements and preparation of journal entries as needed to close the books for purposes of preparing tax returns
• Understanding and experience with accounting assignments, such as performing a writeup and generating a trial balance
• Experience with financial statement preparation and related notes (including compilation and review engagements)
• Previous in-charge assurance experience required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
