Summary
Excellent opportunity for someone interested in autistic individuals! You will be exposed to working with professional therapists and work 1-on-1. Ideal for an ambitious person aspiring to become an BCBA, ABA therapist or study psychology, special education, or a related field. Looking for a DSP (20+ years old) to work in our home with our non-verbal 23-year-old son with autism. The main goal of the work is caring for his well-being, show him the wonders of our world using natural opportunities, increasing his communication skills and level of independence.
Responsibilities:
• Engage in activities/listening/conversation
• Teach functional communication and daily living skills
• Facilitate participation in recreational activities
• General supervision
• Basic food and material preparations
• Ensure safe, healthy and clean living environment .
Requirements:
• At least 20 years old with physical stamina (ability to lift 50 lbs), quick moving
• Experience with the Autism population, good hearted, and strong dedication
• Interested in learning and learning Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• Valid driving license and have car and car insurance
• Work authorization in the USA
• Verifiable work references

• Ability to pay close attention to the needs of a non-verbal individual
• Patience
• Organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
