Cotton, a Sikich Company, has a need for a Privacy Specialist with 4+ or more years of relevant experience. As a Privacy Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the agency’s data processing activities comply with privacy laws and industry standards. We are looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented professionals to join our advisory practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. Law, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity degree required.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. federal secret security clearance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, peers, and management,
• Attention to detail and a solid understanding of privacy laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, audits, and incident response protocols.
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) Preferred.
• Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to work 4 days per week from the office in Alexandria, VA.

Job Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing organizational policies and procedures related to data privacy and security
• Developing mitigation strategies for privacy risks
• Providing guidance and advice to teams across the organization on privacy issues and how to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Understanding any new changes in privacy laws and regulations
• Ensuring compliance with privacy policies and procedures
• Ensuring that privacy requirements are met

Covid-19 Vaccination: As a federal covered contractor, this position may require the individual to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if work is performed for a client where full vaccination is a contractual requirement (fully vaccinated means completion of the requisite number of doses of a vaccine approved or authorized for use or emergency use by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and at least two weeks have passed since you received the final dose). Vaccination documentation can be provided on your first day, but is not required. Vaccine documentation may be requested in the future. Requests for accommodation/exemption from these requirements due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief, observance, or practice will be reviewed by our HR Department.

Your Work Hours: Full-time. Core hours are 9am-4pm.

Your Work Place/Travel: Full-time Hybrid 4 days on-site during the transition. Travel may be required. You must transport a laptop and working documents to these sites.
