SALARY RANGE

The starting salary range for this position is $52,700 - $62,000 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $71,300, annualized.

JOB POSTING

Overview
This position is responsible for providing operational support to Security Division personnel, and coordination of Division operational projects and functions. Administers and operates the District's credentialing/Electronic Access Control (EAC) badge system. Controls inventory of District keys/cores/locks. Performs a wide variety of security-related tasks, including: Facilitates access control for employees, contractors, and vendors; provide training on Physical Security systems to internal and external customers; Exercises considerable judgment and diplomacy in responding to employees, management, Law Enforcement and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Security Support- Assist with the administration of the District's credential management system to issue, activate and deactivate District identification badges for access into controlled access areas. Manage the District’s key/core/lock inventory for access into controlled access areas. Makes low-level operational decisions and initiate action to resolve security-related issues. Identify, leverage, and deploy internal and external resources to support Division needs.
  • Monitor security system health to ensure proper functioning, and initiate action for necessary repair/maintenance.
  • Monitor general security operations and provide response, assistance, and direction as required (includes field travel). Educate, train, and provide support to employees/contractors/vendors regarding the Division's security policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Provides support and back-up to the CIP Monitoring Station and the Security Program Administrator as needed.

Qualifications
Education
Equivalent experience (year for year) may substitute for required education.

  • No post-secondary education required
  • Candidates with some college or technical training with certificates in Genetec and Axis preferred

Experience

  • 3+ years security operations experience performing duties such as electronic access control (EAC), monitoring intrusion alarms, and creating security keycards required
  • Familiarity with the NERC CIP standards and FERC Dam Safety standards desired

Licenses and Certifications

  • ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred
  • ASIS Associate Protection Professional (APP) preferred

  • Requires an extensive knowledge of general and District office procedures, ability to prioritize tasks, elicit cooperation and coordinate total efforts to accomplish a task.
  • Requires working knowledge of, or ability to learn, the District’s Access Control system.
  • Ability to utilize personal computers and equipment to efficiently carry out work assignments.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills, good judgment, and decision-making ability.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.

  • Pursuant to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards, Chelan County Public Utility District #1 conducts background screening of personnel who have access to the District's critical physical and/or cyber assets.
