ABOUT THE POSITION

The Seasonal Groundskeeper works with the Site Maintenance team, under the direction of the Grounds & Gardens Lead, to ensure that Oxbow’s plants are happy and the grounds are ready and look their best for Oxbow’s programming and events.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Basic grounds maintenance including mowing/weed-whacking, lawncare, pest control/removal, pruning, and keeping trails, paths, driveways, and roads clear of brush

• Landscaping work as needed including weeding, irrigation, soil moving, mulching and plant installation
• Maintain equipment used for landscaping work
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned

CORE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Knowledge of use and care of motorized equipment and hand/power tools used in grounds maintenance work

• Knowledge and/or interest in the local flora and their current or potential use in a groomed landscape
• Tractor driving experience a plus
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to grounds-keeping and maintenance work
• Ability to lift 60 plus pounds on a regular basis
• Attentive mind for detail, efficiency, and ability to multitask

• Willingness to work outside, possibly in inclement weather
• Ability to receive constructive criticism gracefully
• Eager to ask questions when uncertain of the directions given, and follow-up when a task is complete
• Ability to working after-hours or on weekends on an as-needed basis

COMPENSATION

This is a seasonal, full-time position with benefits, including a wellness stipend, paid Holidays, and competitive sick and vacation time. Salary is $21 - $22 per hour, depending on experience.
