Job description

We are looking for individuals to perform inspections on construction sites from mid-May to the end of July on various projects around Michigan. This role monitors renovation projects to ensure work is completed safely and according to contract. Duties include visual observation of contractor work practices, sample collection, and preparation of field reports. We provide the necessary training, equipment, mileage reimbursement, and hotels when overnight stays are required.

An example of a typical day would be:

• Arrive onsite at 7:00 AM, set up area equipment and maintain throughout the day.
• Meet with the remediation contractor to discuss their daily plan.
• Periodically perform inspections of the work areas for compliance.
• Document the contractor's daily activities.
• Maintain communication with your project manager.
• Ensure the site is secure before leaving at 5:30 PM.

Expect between 45-60 hours per week. This will be largely dependent on how far you live from the job sites as we pay for your driving time each day. Our office is located in Big Rapids however our projects are all over the state.

This is an ideal job for college students going into the construction or environmental health and safety fields or teachers interested in earning extra money during their summer break.

There is also the possibility that this position could turn into a more permanent role.
