The Collinsworth School of Performing Arts at California Baptist University invites applications for a full-time/tenure-track position of Director of Bands. Duties will include the teaching of assigned courses in band literature and pedagogy, the conducting of the CBU Wind Ensemble, the active recruitment of brass, winds, and percussion for the Wind and Orchestral programs, and the continued development of the band program at CBU through professional activities, artistic collaborations, and repertoire expansion.
Pay Range Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have an earned doctorate degree in conducting or music education from an accredited institution or commensurate experience in the field. Further qualifications include substantial band/instrumental conducting experience as well as experience teaching at the university level.
Teaching Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include teaching courses in concert and marching band performance, literature, and pedagogy and conducting the CBU Wind Ensemble. The ideal candidate will embrace collaborative engagements within the school, forge an active and consistent recruitment model for the development of the band program, and actively represent the university and its mission throughout the region and nation. The candidate will also be expected to maintain an active program of personal scholarship and service to the university and community.
