Job Description
1. Provide lunch assistance to children, monitor students' behavior during lunch. Assist in cleaning up after each lunch period
2. Supervise students during meal service including when they are in line, eating, clearing, or waiting to leave the cafeteria
3. Ensure that students behave properly when eating or waiting in line
4. Maintain general discipline in the cafeteria by ensuring that every student is seated properly at his or her designated place
5. Assist students with clearing tables, trays, and handling seating arrangements
6. Notify the office if cafeteria furniture is not in good repair and is not safe to use
7. Assist cafeteria staff/maintenance staff in cleaning up spills
8. Make sure that the cafeteria is a safe environment for students by handling maintenance and cleanliness needs properly
9. Intervene in fights or arguments between students and make sure that no one is physically hurt
10. Report any unruly behavior to school administration
11. Inform supervisor of any damage to school property
12. Circulate through the cafeteria to ensure supervision of all students with the area
13. Assist in dismissing students from the lunchroom in an orderly fashion when lunchtime ends
14. Respond to emergency situations such as injuries or food allergies in a proactive manner
15. Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality
16. Adhere to the appropriate code of ethics
17. Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the Principal

Job Requirements
- 1. High School Diploma or its equivalent
2. Ability to provide assistance to staff, students and parents when needed
3. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with other employees
4. Excellent communication skills
5. Ability to function effectively as both an individual and member of a team
6. Willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities
7. This is a non-academic support position. - High School/Trade School degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
