A Day In The Life As A School Instructor:

• Teach various activities including social skills, use of social media, daily living skills and preparation for employment
• Explore opportunities with students which may include off site workplace visits, assistance with employment applications, interviewing techniques, volunteer opportunities and more
• Provide instruction in areas of student interests, ex. photography, gardening, etc.
• Develop a vocational plan based on person-centered planning guidelines
• Develop skills in using community resources like public transportation, grocery shopping and banking
• Document student activities and progress on a daily basis

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree or Associates degree with a minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or vocational assessment/preparation or High School diploma with a minimum of five years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or vocational assessment/preparation.
• Valid New York State Driver License that meets Agency driver standards.

Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm during school year and 6 weeks for summer school.
