School Based Personal Care Aides (PCA) are members of the interdisciplinary team who provide hands-on personal care, report changes in the client’s condition, perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, and provide incidental/instrumental activities of daily living to clients in the home setting as evaluated/delegated and as permitted by the policies and procedures of Interim HealthCare and any other federal, state and local law or regulation.

Job Details for the School Based Personal Care Aide (PCA) are as follows:

• K through 12
• Location: Scranton, pa and surrounding areas
• 7:45am - 2:30pm; Monday through Friday
  • OFF (without pay) holidays, weekends, snow days, vacation days, Summer
  • other opportunities provided upon request for down time
• $17/hr
• Health Insurance after 90 days
• Weekly Pay via Direct Deposit or paper check

Responsibilities of the School Based Personal Care Aide (PCA):

• Attend school with a pediatric client
• Follow school policies and procedures
• Assist in keeping the client on task in a classroom setting
• Redirect when necessary in the case of disruption
• Assist with bathroom duties, if needed
• Ensure that the child is safe and not harming others
• Report observations or concerns to supervisor

Requirements of the School BasedPersonal Care Aide (PCA):

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; required
• Passion for working with children
• 6 months of pediatric experience; preferred
• CPR and/or First Aide Certificate; preferred
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be willing to undergo Pre-Employment Screenings
