Coastal Construction Products, a division of Beacon Waterproofing is currently recruiting for an Sales Development Specialist in our Tampa, Florida branch. Beacon currently sells waterproofing products throughout its commercial and residential roofing branches as well as 13 specialty waterproofing locations in the Western U.S. Coastal has 18 locations dedicated to waterproofing serving the Southeast and Midwest. The resulting combination, a new platform for future growth, creates an unparalleled opportunity to leverage a coast-to-coast footprint to better serve customers locally, regionally, and nationally, including in storm-exposed regions where waterproofing is essential to protecting buildings, adapting to stricter building codes and meeting heightened maintenance standards.
This position is focused on covering a large account base of smaller type customers. The goal is to work with customers that are not getting much attention from Coastal or our competitors and grow them by offering them high level customer service. This position will focus on making contact on a frequent basis with customers via telephone. Most contact will be via telephone although face to face contact will also happen on a lesser scale. The Sales Development Specialist will handle all aspects of the customers interactions with Coastal from entering tickets, issuing quotes, to placing orders. The position will be 90% inside making calls and 10% outside face to face contact. This is a proactive position that will be tasked with growing the volume of the territory.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Improving Customers Experience:
  • Work with manufacturer reps to receive training, coordinate training for customers, and receive market intel from them.
  • Enter order tickets in a timely manner and ensuring pricing is correct.
  • Maintain the data in the profile book listing all customer information including potential, customer hobbies, preferred distributors and products etc. to enable building a strong relationship.
  • Issue shop and job quotes to customers in a timely manner and ensuring that quotes are activated and linked in a timely manner.
  • Answer the phone and returning phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Be a Technical professional that can give product recommendations and learns where to find technical information.
  • Meets customers when they visit branch.
  • Sells full range of coastal products.

Improving Coastal:
  • Work closely with the District Manager to establish an account list that has potential to grow.
  • Along with the District Manager, sets sales goals each year.
  • Work with our credit department to ensure we are protecting projects when necessary, keeping customers current, and informing them of any upcoming potential issues that are observed.
  • This position will have a working document of daily calls, results of the calls, and next steps with that customer.
  • Making a minimum of 10 calls per day and logging calls with notes on a daily basis.
  • Establish a profile for each customer when the position is initiated for reference.
  • Sitting down with district manager to review account list quarterly.
  • Works closely with the outside sales team to meet corporate goals.
  • Establishes an open line of communication with our inside sales teams so that they turn over new opportunities to them of walk in traffic.
