Position Title: Dining Service Associate

Full Time: Flexible part time hours. Hours and schedule may vary to include nights and weekends.

Pay: $12.75/hr

Position Summary: This is general work preparing and serving food as well as clerical work with processing financial transactions and handling cash and payment cards.
Rapid and accurate completion of transactions necessary to receiving and disbursing cash. Emphasis is placed on accuracy in handling cash as well as preparation and serving food. Accuracy of work is verified through the comparison of cash with receipt stubs, cash register receipts, or other controls. Work is performed according to established and well defined procedures.

• · Duties include maintaining high standards of cleanliness and for assuring that patrons are served in a pleasant and courteous manner. Assignments are received in the form of specific oral and written instructions and are reviewed by inspection and observation of results obtained.
• · Participates in preparing food items, washing dishes, serving from a serving line, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors. Assist in preparing and stocking line area/display cases with food and serving utensils prior to service. Make sure all items are properly labeled and presented. Maintains cleanliness at the conclusion of service and also conducts deep cleaning during breaks in service.
• · Responsible for serving customers in a courteous and pleasant manner by following all guidelines and procedures set forth by UGA Dining Services for customer service.

• · Performs other duties as assigned by management including related duties and incidental to the work described herein.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

• · Knowledge in methods of handling cash; knowledge of the methods and practices of safe food handling in a team environment; knowledge of the methods of practice of food preparation, or comparable knowledge.

Physical Demands

• · Perform physical activity such as moving loads up to 50 lbs and unloading and stocking products. Perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30 lbs, duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arm, and shoulder, possess hand and finger coordination; reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel, and work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors. Work long hours standing. Handle all types of foods.
