Sales Associate / Assistant Buyer

Reports to Store Manager Status Non-exempt

This description is a “general” description of duties related to the position of an
Assistant Store Manager. Job descriptions may be altered at any time.

POSITION PURPOSE

Assist Store Manager in managing and promoting all aspects of the business: buying, selling, pricing, and merchandising. Promote a high level of customer service and involvement, and continually strive for innovative solutions and alternatives in bettering the business.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Greet customers immediately, determine their needs, and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner to promote the Clothes Mentor image.

2. Become familiar with products, brands and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits, to meet customers’ needs. Maximize sales/customer satisfaction by adding items to close the sale and helping to ensure great products are added online.

3. Assist in the buying of used product. Invite customer to return to the store to sell and to shop in store or in our online store.

4. Restock store following merchandising plan. Maintain store displays and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures.

5. Develop proficiency in operating computerized sales tracking system for all sales transactions, buys, returns, etc.

6. Achieve personal and store sales goals by applying sound customer service and sales protocol.

7. Monitor and assist in the completion of daily store opening and closing procedures. To include, but not be limited to information reporting and

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Prior customer service experience required.

2. Ability to work well as a team member and to take/follow directions.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Sales and goal-oriented.

5. Works efficiently during peak times and self motivates to improve item presentation / organization during slow times.

6. Must be computer literate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Standing for unlimited amount of time, sometimes up to 8 hours.

2. Lifting up to 40 lbs. unassisted.

3. Bending, rotating, reaching conductive to a retail environment and to receiving, pricing and stocking merchandise.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
