Summary:

Beaver Home Services is looking for a Safety Coordinator/Trainer that will ensure all employees at our 3 locations and on the roofing job sites complete their work safely. This position will also administer the safety policies and practices based on legal and regulatory requirements and train employees to understand and practice them.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

· Develops and implement inspection policies and procedures and a schedule of routine inspections (this includes appearing at all 3 locations and job sites routinely).

· Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.

· Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.

· Monitors compliance with safety procedures.

  • Provide daily guidance and direction in safety programs at the employee/team lead level to ensure a common and practical approach.

· Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.

  • Review accidents and incidents that occur around responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the corrective actions,including citations and fines.
  • Maintain and update as needed SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training.
  • Ensure that personnel working on the property comply with company policies and safety requirements (wearing harnesses, hard hats, and OSHA-approved safety goggles).
  • Responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and their applications and helping support the compliance process, supporting and providing relief for the environmental department.

· Complete OSHA forms and reports.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • A high school diploma, with 5 years’ experience in a Safety Coordinator role or equivalent.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and business professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good driving record.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.

Physical Requirements:

· Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.

· Must have reliable transportation to appear at work and job sites for inspections.
