Safety Specialist-Facilities
In this role, the Safety Specialist performs environmental and occupational health and safety consulting services. You will develop and manage policies and procedures focusing on disposal of hazardous chemical and medical waste, evaluate occupational/environmental health and safety issues and coordinate various safety trainings for staff as required by law. You will perform environmental, occupational, and safety audits as well as advise units on safety issues. This role supports staff with respect to environmental/occupational health and safety issues.
This is a full time position located at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital.
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Public Health, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or Science
- Must have working knowledge of industrial hygiene, environmental and occupational policies/principles, and regulatory requirements
- Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office and other programs
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
