Position Overview: Transportation Safety Management required. Promote and enforce the Safety and Compliance objectives of the company. Function as the Safety administrator and instructor of H&M agents and drivers. Assist in the qualification process and review of driver applications in the goal of hiring experiences safe CMV drivers while complying with all DOT regulations, H&M Safety policies, and driver hiring procedures. Conduct driver meetings for new agent launches, startups / acquisitions. Ongoing follow up and training with drivers. Work as the primary liaison between agents and IMCC Safety and Risk Management personnel.


Job Description- Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Safety Management Plan in accordance with the FMCSA Compliance Review.
  • Promote safe culture and environment for H&M drivers.
  • Enforce the safety standards and procedures of H&M.
  • Train, instruct, and monitor agents in the hiring of experience and safe drivers.
  • Assist agents with the driver hiring process.
  • Assist with all aspects of loss prevention and safety compliance for agents.
  • Assist with ongoing and corrective action with driver instruction and training.
  • Assist with accident/incident/injury investigations and reviews.
  • Participate in Safety and Security Audits for agents.
  • Audit of owner operator applications to ensure they are properly completed prior to submitting to IMCC.
  • Review of HireRight, DAC, etc. reports to ensure accuracy of owner operator application.
  • Facilitate initial driver orientation meetings for new agents.
  • Retrieval of missing driver documents or errant driver documents.
  • Action driver write-ups for drivers with recurring problems.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and training to drivers as needed.


Other Job Functions

  • Ensure collection of monthly ruck M&R reports
  • Ensure collection of logs
  • Audit log activity / EOBR activity
  • Facilitation of random drug screenings with agents / IMCC
  • Follow up actions as necessary to ensure all DVIR’s and Roadside Inspections are fully resolved.
  • Quarterly (or monthly newsletter to driver with Safety related topics.
  • Frequently reviews FMSCA stats of company, SafeState score, OOS numbers, etc.


Requirements

  • Trucking safety and DOT compliance experience
  • Good knowledge of FMCSR
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to function with little supervision
  • Strong computer technical skills
  • Minimum of three to five years relevant experience in trucking industry


Travel

  • Regular travel between Kearny, NJ and Philadelphia, PA
