Our Ballston Spa location is looking to find an experienced hard working individual to join our team as Safety Manager to manage division safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA/VOSHA standards and corporate policies and procedures, along with developing and guiding the division’s overall training program.


Safety

  • Liaises with Federal and State (NY&VT) safety agencies (OSHA/VOSHA) to improve division safety performance
  • Provides onsite support to Site Safety Managers as needed or requested
  • Organizes, presents, documents OSHA mandated training as needed
  • Schedules and leads division quarterly Site Safety Manager meetings
  • Participates in the corporate weekly incident review meeting
  • Assists the Corporate Safety Specialist in the selection and presentation of safety training materials
  • Monitors division injury and illness incidents to identify trends and responses
  • Maintains the division’s safety data base
  • Audits sites for OSHA/VOSHA and company compliance
  • Represents the company at local, regional, and national safety conferences
  • Attends safety training programs to expand knowledge base
  • Investigates serious safety related incidents/accidents and reports findings to the Corporate Safety Specialist

Training

  • Assists site staff in arranging and presenting training events
  • Researches and recommends suitable training materials
  • Coordinates division programs with the Corporate Training Office
  • Manages training documentation through a division data base
  • Coordinates the training component of the CDL and PIT training programs
  • Develops and provides other training programs as requested by branch managers
  • Active member of the Training committee which develops and monitors companywide training programs
  • Assist with New Hire Orientation
