POSITION SUMMARY: The ROADS Mobile Unit Specialist is responsible for the day to day transportation needs of one or more of the ROADS mobile healthcare units. The primary responsibility of the Mobile Unit Specialist is to safely operate the vehicle driving to and from its daily assigned workplace, including performing thorough pre-trip inspections daily and promptly reporting any issues to the Fleet Manager. The Mobile Unit Specialist will be responsible for securing a suitable parking area at each assigned location and setting up the mobile unit for clinic readiness.

In addition, the Mobile Unit Specialist will perform routine administrative duties such as data entry, scheduling, and insurance verification. He/She will assist the ROADS team clinical staff with escorting children from class to the mobile unit and obtaining vital signs (training will be provided).

Education/Skills Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement. Continued employment dependent on maintaining current CDL credentials and acceptable driving record.
  • Up-to-date DOT physical exam clearance
  • Suitable 10 year driving record must be submitted upon interview selection
  • Must have computer experience
  • Experience working in the public school system a plus
  • CPR certification a preferred but can be obtained upon hire

Other Requirements:

  • Must obey all established safety and driving / transportation rules and requirements before, during and after set-up and operation of the Mobile Unit.
  • Must immediately report maintenance and repair issues to the Fleet Manager and Mobile Health Services Program Manager.
  • Actively participate in and comply with all aspects of the CSC Corporate Compliance Program, follow the Standards of Conduct and obey all relevant laws, statutes, regulations and requirements applicable to Medicaid, Medicare and other State and Federal health care programs.
  • The ability to understand and follow in detail both verbal and written instructions.
  • Exercises discretion and sound judgment when dealing with patients, visitors and co-workers.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer programs and professional construction of emails.
  • Must be a motivated and enthusiastic learner.
  • Must present a courteous, tactful, and professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to speak clearly and in a grammatically correct manner.

Hours: Full-time days; Monday through Friday

Location: This position is to work with our ROADS Team which is a mobile medical team providing primarily well-child, primary care in local area schools in the following counties: Dillon, Darlington, Chesterfield, Marlboro, and Lee as well as MAT services in partnership with local DAODAS agencies.

Proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 must be presented prior to beginning work with CareSouth Carolina. Full vaccination is receipt of both doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
