Our RN Training Program positions are geared towards new RN grads or RNs with less than 1 year of Med/Surg experience or no Med/Surg experience. During the first year, this position receives hands on training in the Med/Surg department working 8 or 12 hour shifts in a 0.75 FTE. At the end of one year if the RN is successfully meeting all standards they will be scheduled to work casual call going forward. In casual call status they must be available to work a minimum of two 8 hour weekend shifts every 6 weeks. Additional shifts and weekday hours are available to be picked up. If a larger FTE becomes available, they can also be considered for it.

Position Responsibilities:

Provides direct professional nursing care for medical/surgical patients by utilizing nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills. Performs technical nursing functions, utilizes the nursing process, to assess patient status, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care. Ensures a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and families within the guidelines and policies of the department and the philosophy of the organization. This position provides age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure with the MN Board of Nursing
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS and PEARS or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
• These certifications are company paid. If employment ends prior to one year, the employee is responsible for re-paying the cost of these certifications.

Schedule:

• 60hrs/2wks
• Day/Evening/Night Shift
• Weekend Rotation: Work 2 out of every 6 weekends
