BasePoint Academy is seeking a dynamic Revenue Cycle Specialist in Forney, TX! The Revenue Cycle Specialist will work all facets of an accounts receivable management system including but not limited to billing, claim corrections, reconciliation, payment posting, refunds/credit balances, customer service, and follow-up in accordance with departmental protocol with an emphasis on maximizing patient satisfaction and profitability. Also may be responsible for reviewing claim information to ensure accuracy and provide feedback to the clinical and non-clinical areas regarding claim errors and/or denials, and for providing cross coverage for areas not primarily assigned as required to ensure efficient and professional operations and maximum patient satisfaction.

Job Duties:

  • Proficiency with receivables management system including but not limited to patient registration, charge entry, coding, claims processing, collections, reports, and patient information inquiry.
  • Perform follow-up actions with insurance companies to ensure timely and full payment.
  • Post deductibles, write-offs and payments as per EOBs.
  • Correctly allocate payments for line item posting.
  • Utilize account information to assist in write-offs for inclusive CPTs by payor.
  • Provides customer service both on the telephone and in the office for all patients and authorized representatives regarding patient accounts in accordance with office protocol.
  • Follow-up on all returned claims, correspondence, denials, account reconciliations and rebills receipt to achieve maximum reimbursement in a timely manner with an emphasis on patient satisfaction.
  • Performs patient collections through monthly statements, phone, and email.
  • Actively searches for solutions to problems and presents ideas and recommendations to Management.
  • Retroactive verification of eligibility. Always attempts to verify inaccurate/missing information.
  • Ensures compliance with all State, Federal, and Central Business Office issues, including but not limited to patient-rights, Fair Debt Collections practices, and other collection practices.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Serve and protect sensitive information by adhering to professional standards, company policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements and standards.
  • Analyzes, investigates and resolves coding edits for complex E/M services and ancillary services. This includes CPT, diagnosis, modifier, bundling, duplicate charge, and custom edit resolution.
  • Requires strong knowledge of each commercial payor regulations and guidelines, internal revenue cycle coding processes and behavioral health specific service line billing practices.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
  • This position requires a high degree of organization and accuracy, and clear communication with providers on a regular basis to ensure services are well documented and meet all billing requirements. This position could possibly require resolving clinical and/or technical denials as well.

Experience and Education:

  • Associate's Degree or High School Diploma with (2) two years as an Account Receivable in a medical practice setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, & other MS software and computerized patient accounting applications.
  • Experience in medical terminology

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
