Theo Chocolate is proud to be the first organic, fair trade, farm-to-bar chocolate factory in the United States. It takes a large array of duties and committed people to make great chocolate. Our factory, kitchen, marketing, and administrative offices are all located in a historical building in the Fremont district of Seattle, WA. Our Flagship store, located right inside our factory, has always played host to visitors interested in learning about chocolate, looking for that perfect gift, or stopping by for a sweet treat! As a Retail Store Associate, you are an ambassador for our company and show it through your interactions with guests, knowledge of product, and swift customer service. From our local regulars to travelers who have only ever seen our bars on grocery shelves, you are the personal interaction that guests get to have with our company!

We are seeking TWO part time retail sales associates.

Hours: Must have weekend availabilty, 10:15am-6:15pm
Summary: Responsible for providing an excellent customer experience in the retail store.

Pay: $20 per hour plus $1000 retention bonus! We expect to hire new employees into the role at $20/hour.

Wage Scale: $20-$22 per hour

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

· Provide excellent customer service.

· Acquire outstanding product knowledge including but not limited to ingredients and flavor profiles and communicate product information to a wide range of customers.

· Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions and all related cash handling functions including opening and closing a till.

· Maintain a clean, well-organized workspace.

· Perform daily retail tasks including merchandising, inventory flow, answering the phone/messages, cleaning, and packaging product.

· Answer customer calls knowledgeably; aid with booking and taking payment for classes/events/tours

· Be a Theo Brand Ambassador in all interactions with the public and positively reflect the company’s products and culture/mission

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience working in a retail environment. Demonstrated public speaking experience to large groups of people of all ages preferred, not required. Pastry and/or professional chocolate experience a plus, not required.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. English language proficiency.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Ability:
Must have flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts.
Computer Skills:
Ability to use computer and keyboard to work with online reservations system, Microsoft Office Suite, and email, and Google Calendar.
Certificates and Licenses:
Food handlers license preferred.
Work Environment:
This job is performed in a retail store and a factory environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
