WWAMH is seeking individuals to provide support using a psychiatric rehabilitation approach for an adult in a residential apartment program. The candidates would be working 1:1 with the individual in their apartment and within the community, along with having all of the resources and support that our agency has to offer.

These are TEMPORARY positions that will last no longer than 6 months. Successful completion of the program would allow the employee to obtain a permanent position in another program within the agency.

We will be looking to fill daytime, evening and asleep overnight schedules

Individual must be well motivated and committed to making a difference in people's lives. Good listening, writing and verbal skills required. Computer skills helpful. One year human services experience, Associates Degree preferred. Valid drivers' license required.

The first step in support is defining and developing a rehabilitation plan which aids a person’s movement to the next stage in their recovery. This individualized, highly detailed plan clarifies needs, charts a course of action and provides the framework to evaluate progress. Services available to residents include crisis intervention, rehabilitation counseling, social and living skills development (money management, personal hygiene, food preparation, meal planning, recreation activities, etc.), symptom and medication management, community integration and resource development. On duty around the clock staff work closely with each resident to maximize stability and help in the transition to a less restrictive environment.

Job duties would include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Develop individual service plans with assigned resident, coordinate with other care providers (i.e. - day program, medical and mental health providers).
  • Work with the resident’s family, as appropriate, and other member’s of the resident’s treatment team.
  • Help establish a pleasant, functional atmosphere within the residence, provide unobtrusive leadership as needed, support, advice, and supervise resident’s daily living activities (housework, menus, shopping, hygiene,

medication, budgeting, etc.), develop and implement specific programs in living skills for the resident as indicated.

  • Encourage effective communication, personal and interpersonal awareness and independence among staff and resident.
  • Instruct resident in the use of house equipment, safety procedures and routines.
  • Assist resident with community integration (i.e.- programs, services, entertainment, socialization, transportation, etc.).
  • Provide informal case management services and counseling to resident as needed.
  • Implement fire drills and report safety concerns to supervisor immediately.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and required in-service trainings.
  • Provide behavioral intervention when necessary and work with resident to utilize self-control/improved coping skills in de-escalation.

Full-time positions offer a comprehensive benefit package including health and dental insurance, vacation, sick/personal time and 401(k). Benefits would be available during the duration of the position.

A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for this position.
