Position Summary

The INSIGHT Clinical Research Network is a collaborative initiative that integrates clinical, claims, and social determinant data for over 17 million diverse patients from New York City’s leading health systems As a member of a PCORI’s National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network, PCORnet®, INSIGHT is focused on patient-centered research. At the heart of this work is a focus on meaningful engagement with a diverse group of stakeholders including patients, caregiver, families, health system leaders, payers and clinicians. Our Research Data Associate provides research, data analysis, and operational support to principal investigators and research coordinators for health services studies under supervision of the Senior Research Program Manager, in collaboration with the INSIGHT Coordinating Center leadership and staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and schedules meetings in support of research projects and investigators.
  • Assists with the preparation of research meeting materials, newsletters (in paper and electronic formats), and research-related promotional materials.
  • Conducts literature reviews and gains expert familiarity with protocols that will be used as templates.
  • Assists in creation of study database. Manages and enters collected data into study database.
  • May conduct qualitative coding and thematic analysis of study data.
  • May perform statistical analysis of research data.
  • Assists in the preparation of materials, submissions and renewals to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or IACUC.
  • Assists faculty in the preparation of grant submissions and associated documentation, which may include just-in-time documents, progress reports, routing forms, abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

  • High School Diploma

Experience

Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Approximately one year of related experience.

Statistical and database management experience, including proficiency in SPSS and/or RedCap.

Previous clinical research experience is helpful.

Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
  • Willingness to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple projects and priorities.
