Internal Audit has an exciting opportunity for a Reporting Analyst within our Center for Audit Practices and Enablement (CAPE) team. This team is responsible for providing leading practices and services (e.g., methodology, reporting, talent management, learning, data analytics, technology, communications) to the Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program teams.

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating operational board/audit committee, and executive and senior management reporting. You will help implement and/or support a range of projects requiring reporting and data analysis skills, risk acumen / knowledge, and project management skills. You will also work collaboratively with audit / SOX team members and leaders to identify and drive insights within the reporting deliverables and other activities.

In this role you will:

  • Assist with the development and management of Internal Audit (IA) and SOX reporting by leveraging data reporting tools as well as identifying automation opportunities.
  • Perform data analysis and assist with preparation of data visualizations and materials for stakeholder reporting, as well as bring new ideas for consideration based on knowledge of IA/SOX work.
  • Assist with the SOX stakeholder attestation of an effective and well-controlled environment over financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with leadership and crew to consistently improve data quality, reporting, data analysis, and technology across teams. Identify crew training opportunities to provide direct coaching and crew development.
  • Administer the functional capabilities of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool through process documentation and testing new functionality. Maintain a positive working relationship with the GRC vendor to ensure timely completion of support requests.
  • Maintain effective networks with other reporting and data functions in IA/SOX, across Vanguard, as well as external to Vanguard professional organizations to stay abreast of industry trends and developments.

What it takes:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum of two years related work experience (project management, reporting, data analytics, data management, business intelligence, and/or similar role) preferred
  • Excel, Tableau, PowerApps and/or PowerBI experience preferred
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts, internal controls, audit and/or SOX preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to function in fast paced, ambiguous environment working with multiple and diverse responsibilities. Possesses strong relationship skills and a client focused mindset
