Position summary

The function of the Regulatory Specialist position is to be the subject matter expert on chemical regulatory questions within the Compliance team. Tasks include updating regulatory resources and documentation, proactively seeking trends and hot button issues in the chemical regulatory sector, and pushing information to our employees, customers, and business partners both on request and proactively to stay ahead of new developments. This function is also involved with streamlining response times to our customers with regards to regulatory requests and technical data.

Essential tasks of the position

  • Manage requests from customers, business partners and employees regarding technical/regulatory status and information.
  • Proactively monitor regulatory developments and communicate to internal and external stakeholders’ updates and changes.
  • Assure data integrity within company ERP and CRM systems.
  • Maintain databases with a high level of data integrity.
  • Monitor product expiration dates and seek extensions from our suppliers when needed.
  • Act as Hazardous Materials subject matter expert and internal resource.
  • Projects as assigned by the Compliance Director.

Quality:

Activities of the position affect quality including quality objectives. Responsibilities and authorities include where appropriate:

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, or quality system, up to and including when necessary, stopping production to correct quality problems.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Document problems, steps taken for resolution and preventative action in CRM software and notify all parties required.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions in areas under your control.
  • Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Perform duties and tasks as prescribed in company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
