Novus Clinic RN/LPN provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served including knowledge of the principles of growth and development and psychosocial characteristics and interventions for age specific requirements of the assigned patients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee with provider support injectable program, STI referrals, hospital/ER/specialist follow-up.
  • Collaborate directly with physicians and nurse practitioners to provide world-class patient care. In scope of this role is direct patient contact while performing interviews and assessments, conducting physical exams, treating and maintaining conditions, assist with lab ordering and results. Responsible for timely and accurate patient visits and documenting information related to their visits.
  • Be responsible for the assessment, treatment or care of child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
  • Screen, communicate, and respond to patient needs appropriately.
  • Administer ordered medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, or sublingual routes.
  • Triage and respond to patient telephone calls using approved protocols.
  • Ensure patient privacy and comfort during the examination.
  • Greet patients and prepare them for their examination.
  • Be accountable for direct and indirect quality care for patients of all ages, according to their individualized needs.
  • Educate patients about diagnostic procedures, medications, chronic disease management and treatment instructions.
  • Act as a content expert and clinical resource by providing staff and patient education.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of medical information into EMR.
  • Adhere to ethical nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and record laboratory testing.
  • Communicate to nurse practitioners and physicians on required medical information.
  • Perform on-call functions as needed based on business needs.
  • Triage patient calls, assess the problem, consult with the physician.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patients.
  • Work with other clinical staff and assist in guiding medical assistants.
  • Training and cross training as needed.
  • Support the growth and advancement of Novus Health’s mission.

Clinic RN/LPN Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited university/college.
  • Current certification to practice medicine in the state of Missouri.
  • Three (3) years experience as a RN/LPN.
  • Nonprofit and health clinic experience preferred.
  • Previous knowledge and training working with HIV and infectious disease.
  • Advanced communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work with diverse patient population
  • Ability to work within scheduled clinic hours of operation

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand arm movements.

Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more and to identify and distinguish colors)

Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

Frequent keyboard use/data entry

Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and gripping.

Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
