Job description
We are seeking a Home Infusion Nurse to join our team! The Infusion Nurse will work safely and independently, with patients and pharmacies to provide high-quality patient-centered care focused on delivering IV medications in the home.
Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Home Infusion Nurse include but are not limited to:
- Provides friendly and professional care in person, over the phone, and through written communications
- Assess patient appropriateness for in-home infusions
- Initiates and maintains vascular access to deliver IV medications including: PICC lines, Ports, and Peripherals
- Safely and accurately administer all oral, IV, IM, and SQ medications per MD orders
- Perform patient assessments prior to and during IV infusions and will notify supervisory staff and pharmacists of any abnormal findings.
- Accurately performs necessary nursing responsibilities including, but not limited to, obtaining lab specimens, and performing vital signs per medication protocol
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other staff, and provide education regarding prescribed treatments
- Complete all required documentation promptly (within 24 hours) including visit Nursing Notes, Plan of Treatments, Medication Profiles, etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge, proper storage, and administration of all medications administered
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and at least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
- Active and unrestricted RN licensure in the state(s) of practice
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Required license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of practice with access to a vehicle for business travel with proof of liability insurance
- Professional malpractice insurance
- Basic computer skills
