Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Description:

The Behavioral Health RN manages the nursing care of patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

The Behavioral Health Adolescent Unit has 12 beds (private and semi-private). The BH Adolescent RN will treat patients for mental health problems such as major depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorders and/or substance abuse. The patients on this unit are ages 13 – 17 years old. On this unit, we have Recreational Therapy and a large gymnasium as well as outdoor areas for activities. We offer individual, family and group therapy on this unit.

In this position, you will:

  • Performs initial and on-going physical and psychosocial assessment according to accepted standards of nursing practice
  • Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs
  • Carries out physician orders
  • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs
  • Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient

What qualifications you will need:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, or
  • Recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provision)
  • Graduate from a professional accredited school of nursing preferred
  • Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • 1 year RN experience in a Behavioral Health (Psych) Unit/Facility preferred

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
