Founded in 1988, Child Development Schools is headquartered in Austin, TX operating over 260 childcare centers in 11 states. Our three early childhood education brands are Childcare Network, Sunrise Preschools, and My Small Wonders. We proudly provide quality care and developmental education to over 30,000 children aged six weeks to twelve years.

We have a great opportunity for an Area Director to join our growing company!

Through their leadership, the Area Director is responsible for achieving Company goals and growth, business and staffing trends, while ensuring that company policies and standards are being met in each school. The Area Director will be responsible for leading the promotion and nurturing of the New Day Principles and Core+ Service model while working collaboratively with members of HR, Finance, Risk Management, Real Estate, Executive Leadership, and other departments. The Area Director is specifically tasked with the management of School Directors and support teams in their area and works alongside them to ensure they develop personally and professionally.
Requirements:
  • 5-7 Minimum of six (6) years in management role and experience in a multischool or multi-site environment
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Business
  • Preferred Graduate Degree Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Business preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different departments within the organization
  • Ability to manage and work with diverse employees and customers
  • Exceptional change management ability
  • Effective at establishing clear customer-focus objectives and measures
  • Strong delegation and leadership skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a skilled business leader, influencing and guiding Center Directors to successfully operate their centers
  • Executes operational strategies designed to drive success across critical performance measures: customer enrollment, retention, productivity, quality, and brand awareness
  • Demonstrates competence in communicating and training on new initiatives, while creating excitement and engagement
  • Employs critical thinking to analyze center trends and P&L performance, while providing guidance to help franchisees to improve
  • Consistently educates oneself on Sunrise standard operating procedures, state childcare licensing regulations, and ensures centers and leaders always comply
  • Evaluates enrollment trends for each center within the region, and partners to implement action plans
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships- creates an environment of trust and rapport with peers, center leaders, employees, and corporate support partners
  • Researches and shares pertinent information and data, enabling to attract and retain top talent and customers
  • Partners with support teams in the licensing, marketing, advertising, opening, and staff training for new locations
  • Actively seeks out resources to minimize and resolve problems. Escalates issues appropriately
  • Proactively addresses concerns, considering the views and opinions of both internal and external customers
  • Consistently works to improve performance for the region and the entire CDS organization
  • Uphold, practice, and ensure adherence to New Day Principles
  • Strong commitment towards Diversity and Inclusion and ability to work with a diverse talent pool
  • Manage and oversee Risk Management and insurance claims protocols as determined and in coordination with the Risk Management Manager.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all state (licensing and other) authorities and community contacts
  • Remain abreast of national and professional trends and standards for delivering high-quality children's programs
