This is part-time, supervisory, and participatory work in directing assigned activities related to the Summer Food Service Program. Work involves assisting with the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of related programs and activities; developing and participating in internal training; and developing effective and harmonious relationships with recreation center staff, food vendors, and the public. Work requires the ability to interpret and apply federal program rules and regulations, requires a high attention to detail, and an understanding of food and nutrition programs. An employee in this class must be able to exercise sound judgment and work independently while following established policies, regulations, and procedures. Work will include weekday assignments and may include occasional evening hours.

Salary: $16.73 - $25.02 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:

• Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.

• Possess and continue to maintain a valid Driver License.

• Possess some prior experience in food and nutrition programs.

• Possess excellent customer service skills.

• Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

• Be able to follow and apply federal rules and regulations related to the program.

• Be able to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.

• Successfully meet the State of Florida good moral character and Level II background screening standards.

Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:

• Have completed at least one year of college credits at an accredited college or university with major coursework in food and nutrition, community health, education, business, recreation, or a related field.

• Have some knowledge of the objectives, rules, techniques, and requirements related to implementing a grant funded food service program.

• Are able to plan, organize and monitor program sites.

• Have knowledge of Microsoft Word and database software programs.
