JOB TITLE: Recovery Specialist

REPORTS TO: Recovery Specialist Supervisor or On-call Supervisor

General Description:

To support and facilitate a team approach at Gavin-Quincy, it is the expectation of all Gavin Foundation, Inc. staff to pitch in as needed for our clients benefit

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Work with a team comprised of medical professionals, clinicians and case managers to provide support, counseling and community referrals to individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Recovery Specialist will have direct contact with clients, and monitor their daily recovery progress. Responsible for maintaining the safety of clients, facility and provide understanding and direction to the clients in program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: ATS & CSS

* Ensuring clients attend groups and counseling as assigned

* Provide supervision to clients at all times during and by keeping the daily schedule of the program

* Assist Intake Coordinator with admission and screening of clients, as needed

* Assisting Client’s through the admission process, as needed

* Process Client’s clothes to prevent bed bugs and search for contraband

* Storing and securing Client’s clothes

* Orienting new clients to the facility

* Ensure client’s complete daily life skills including personal hygiene

* Ensure the safety of resident’s (physical and emotional) well being

* Ensure that the program policies are followed and document any deviation of said policies

* Provide crisis intervention when necessary

* Assisting with discharging and escorting patients off of the premise

*Driving Client’s in the absence of program drivers

* Utilizes universal precautions at all times, maintenance of CPR certification and understanding

of emergency procedures

* Supervise clients during meals

* Clean spills as needed

* Provide supervision to clients during designated smoking breaks (Staff are not allowed to smoke with clients)

* Other duties as assigned including assisting with meals if needed

* Complete census/bed checks every 30 minutes noting any issues in the communication log

11:15pm- 7:115am Shift additional responsibilities:

* Complete security check of all exit doors and stairways in assigned area every 30 minutes- noting any issues in the communication log.

* Assist with breakfast setup/cleanup if needed

* Assist with facility laundry, as needed

* Mop floors during overnight shift and other minor cleaning chores
