  • Receive and address electronic, telephone, and in-person inquiries for the Denver Service Center for the National Parks Service (NPS). Catalog information and upload electronic files for the NPS Technical Information Center (TIC).*

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Includes the following:
*

  • Receives and addresses electronic, telephone, and in-person inquiries.
  • Catalogs information by using eTIC system to search, create, modify, and edit metadata records to describe materials in the TIC collection.
  • Reviews and compares existing records to avoid duplication of items and for missing documents.
  • Uploads electronic files to the correct metadata record.
  • Identifies required information from source materials and enter into metadata fields.
  • Follows TIC cataloging guidelines as found in the TIC data dictionary, controlled vocabulary, or from TIC staff training.
  • Assists TIC with working with internal and external customers and members of the public.
  • Operates peripheral equipment directly supporting digital computer and scanning operations.
  • Produces electronic files of architectural or engineering current or historical drawings that meet NPS requirements and NARA requirements as supplied to the incumbent.
  • Handles fragile historic drawings or documents and scan them with appropriate techniques to ensure the source material is preserved.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY*
No supervisory/management authority.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*
Minimum of (2) years records management experience.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*
*

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize work and successfully meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
  • Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen.
  • Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT*
Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office environment.
