OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; notifies company personnel of visitor arrival; maintains security and telecommunications system.

Receptionist Job Duties:
Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.

  • Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories; giving instructions. 'Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook and electronic signing in.

  • Maintains telecommunication system by following manufacturer's instructions for house phone and console operation.

  • Maintains a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Receptionist Skills and Qualifications:

Telephone Skills, Verbal Communication, Microsoft Office Skills, Listening, Professionalism, Customer Focus, Organization, Informing Others, Handles Pressure, Phone Skills, Supply Management, High School graduate, Able to read and write English

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary

General


  • To participate in training in order to reach the required standards in the post to include hygiene, health and safety, fire practices etc.

  • To ensure confidentiality of all information relating to residents and Dumont Center.

  • To act in a responsible and professional manner at all times.

  • To build effective relationships that are respectful and supportive with residents, visitors and other staff.

  • To welcome new temporary and permanent staff and assist with their orientation as directed.

  • To attend and contribute to staff meetings as required.

  • To comply with the Dumont Center Dress Code at all times.

  • To comply with the Dumont Center policies and procedures relating to Equal Opportunities.

  • To implement the Dumont policies, procedures, codes, and initiatives to include customer care and health and safety.

  • To adhere to the Dumont Center quality systems following the procedures as appropriate and as laid down in the procedure manuals and other guidance material.

  • To provide the highest quality service, incorporating best standards and practices, and to work to continually improve standards promoting Dumont Center.

  • To undertake any other duties that might reasonably be required.


SAFETY

Must wear all required PPE properly when required.

Conduct him/herself in a safe manner.

Must keep the area around your workstation clean and free from dirt and debris.
