Experienced veterinary receptionist for growing, modern AAHA accredited animal hospital in Wesley Chapel, NC. State of the art medicine with intimate, family atmosphere. Emphasis on patient care, client education, innovative thinking and team approach. Fun, friendly, and energetic team. Candidate must possess warm, friendly, and professional demeanor with the ability to multi-task and keep up in this busy hospital. Currently looking for a part-time receptionist to round out our team. Position Summary: Primarily responsible for providing effective assistance to veterinarians in all aspects of patient care and client service by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of animal medical care and company products and servicesQualifications Required: High School diploma or its equivalentOne year proficiency in veterinary hospital environment

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Welcoming clients and patients to the practice and providing for their comfort while they are in the practice. This includes greeting clients warmly, using their name and the pet’s name, and showing them to a clean exam roomObtaining historical information and medical background of patients from clients and entering information into medical records thoroughlyEffectively communicating services and products offered and recommended by the veterinarians Cleaning up and Disposing of animal eliminations and animal remainsExtensive cleaning of hospital and equipment demonstrating appropriate disinfecting techniquesAnswering telephones, scheduling appointments, performing phone triage of emergenciesHandling emergency situations, remaining calm while showing empathy and compassion.Checking out clients, reviewing details of invoices with clients and obtaining paymentInputting services provided and products obtained into invoices, ensuring invoice accuracy for all patients.Effectively communicating details and collect necessary information for wellness plans Educating clients on responsible pet care.Performing end of day transactionsAppointment reminder calls, filing, faxing, receiving and sending packages, cleaning and maintenance of reception area, as well as ordering of office suppliesAppropriately filling prescriptions and over the counter medicationsPerforming general hospital maintenance as requestedFollowing established security protocols, including locking and unlocking of doors and setting the alarm to ensure the safety and security of patients, team members, and the facilityComputer proficiency with Microsoft word and excelNonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesEffectively restraining animals for veterinarians and technicians to examine and perform proceduresTaking radiographs as requested by veterinarian.Collecting specimens and performing lab work as needed. Properly handling and storing samplesPerforming other related duties as assigned
