POSITION SUMMARY

The employee in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the placing of Purchase Orders with vendors after researching product requirements, sourcing vendors, and working with vendors to obtain the highest quality products at competitive prices.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure at all times operating principles are being adhered to:

    • Fun – Have fun! Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards.


  • Interact with all guests and employees to positively affect interactions with guests and employees, and demonstrate resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions. Work effectively and courteously with fellow employees.


  • Create purchase orders and places orders with vendors based on existing corporate agreements and/or competitive pricing while maintaining the highest quality standards.


  • Ensure complete documentation of all systems and procedures to maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, Missouri Gaming Commission, and all other applicable regulations.


  • Responsible for negotiating with vendors to find quality products at competitive prices and adequate delivery time.


  • Review bid proposals and negotiate agreements within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.


  • Review receiving paperwork and invoices for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to Accounts Payable.


  • Responsible for compliance to Corporate contracts/agreements, SOPs and product specifications.


  • Completes all company-required training within designated time frames.


  • Performs other duties as assigned.


WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must possess ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, computer keyboard and telephone.
  • Ability to review and comprehend corporate agreements, vendor bids, and all other vendor communication.
  • Knowledge of Health Department storage regulations, Hazard Chemical labeling, and OSHA storage requirements.
  • Knowledge of gaming and alcohol beverage control laws and regulations.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in an interruptive environment under time pressures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and all levels of employees.
  • Ability to work in a brightly lit, smoke filled casino environment with above average noise levels, storage facilities and delivery vehicle where exposed to auto fumes and weather conditions.
  • Ability to work a variety of schedules.
  • Must possess ability to learn and use various computer software programs such as Infinium, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
  • Must possess ability to review, comprehend, and communicate various policies and procedures including Federal and State regulations, publications, documents, and correspondence.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time (6-10 hours) with intermittent breaks on a daily basis.
  • May require heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. unassisted.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Valid MGC Level 2 Gaming license.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • A high School Diploma or GED preferred with two years of experience in purchasing or related field.
  • Experience in the gaming industry is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to receive and maintain all required certification.
  • Must complete all required company training.
