R&D Technologist

The Research and Development Technologist will conduct product development activities for new assays utilizing innovative technologies including next generation sequencing. The role includes liaising with cross-functional teams including software development team, technical support, field application specialists, product managers, regulatory, quality, and operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform experiments & analysis toward the development of new products and the improvement of existing products
  • Execute research plans, maintain project timelines
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of CareDx products to support technical support team
  • Perform quality control testing of new lots of products
  • Prepare technical documentation (QC reports, Instructions For Use, training materials, etc)
  • Perform instrument maintenance & calibration
  • Follow procedures according to Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Participate in weekly R&D, Tech Support, and Operations team meetings
  • Maintain technical competency
  • Periodically attend HLA/transplant-focused conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or equivalent.
  • Experience working in Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics preferred
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology preferred
  • Experience with PCR and other molecular techniques preferred
  • Ability to independently conduct experiments, analyze data and work effectively in a team setting
  • Demonstrated experience in Research or clinical lab setting
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills
