SUMMARY:

Responsible for overall quality of products & packaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Conducts various quality/packaging checks as well as providing support to Operators and the packing floor to ensure high standards of cone quality.
• Follow all SOP’s as outlined in the Quality Assurance Manual.
• Pulls cone and sleeve samples hourly for quality checks, performs measurements, enters data in SPC software, and reports any problems to oven operators.
• Performs moisture checks every two hours, and ensures microbiological tests are completed daily.
• Monitors quality of products and packaging through the shift, and has the authority to place any questionable product/packaging on “Hold” status and communicate to management.
• Provide assistance to packing floor on lines that are experiencing problems, to ensure overall quality remains high.
• Completes packaging checklist at the beginning of the shift, stays informed of what products are running, and ensures the correct packaging materials/labels are being used at all times. Monitor all changeovers per current established procedure
• Coach all new and current employees on quality issues.
• Clean lab at end of shift.
• Receive incoming bulk ingredient load and verify COA against current ingredient specification.
• Perform metal detection checks twice per shift.
• Calibrate scales and calipers daily.
• Perform post cleaning and pre-operational evaluations along with ATP testing weekly to ensure sanitary standards are met.
• Perform monthly finished case audits (one sleeved and one hand pack for each packer per month). Report any issues to management.
• Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, which includes expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent and/or prior quality experience. Computer experience a plus.

COMMUNICATON SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and follow directions. Must be able to speak, listen and openly communicate with team members and actively participate in team meetings.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply formulas and mathematical concepts and to use them in product development.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw a valid conclusion.

• Any lifting of over 50 lbs. requires a team lift

• Use hands to grip, pinch, handle, reach, or feel on a frequent basis
• Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis
• Possess manual dexterity
• Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.90 - $24.62 per hour
