Job Summary :
The Quality Specialist Investigator (QSI) will ensure Emmaus is operating according to policy/procedures and in compliance with funding and accreditation requirements when completing timely investigations to include misuse of funds/property, neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal abuse, and any infringement of rights.

Key Responsibilities :
    • Review all EMT’s submitted to ensure accuracy and timeliness of completion, and ensure no additional follow-up is needed. Enter EMT’s (Emergency Management Tracking) into Therap GER (General Event Report) for accurate reporting and storage.
    • Responsible for completion of internal investigation process involving allegations of misuse of funds/property, neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal abuse, and any infringement of rights against clients as assigned, by supervisor. The QSI will conduct all tasks associated with the internal investigation progress to include but not limited to conduct interviews, review documents related to the investigation, complete the final report, make recommendations based on findings, facilitate consensus meeting, act as DMH’s (Department of Mental Health) direct contact for any needs surrounding a DMH Inquiry or Investigation, maintain internal investigation tracker, ensure follow up of recommendations are completed, etc.
    • Design trend reports as requested by supervisor to demonstrate areas meeting funding and accreditation requirements and areas in need of improvement. The QSI will develop and manage internal reports to include inquiries, investigations, timely reporting of EMT’s, incident occurrences, hospitalizations, etc. as assigned by supervisor.
    • Participate as a member, as needed, of the Regional Office Due Process Committee and attend meetings, as requested by DMH. Maintain Emmaus’ internal tracker for client’s when rights must be restricted and ensure due process has occurred at a regional office level. Support CS in understanding rights restrictions, the process for restricting and how due process is met. Ensure Emmaus meets funding and accreditation requirements surrounding rights restrictions.
    • Complete annual client satisfaction surveys.
    • Collaborate with departments on specific projects and ongoing functions as determined by Emmaus’ leadership to provide input and achieve agency outcomes and goals.

Standard- Demands of the Job :
    • Operate standard office equipment including but not limited to a laptop, cell phone, fax machine, printer, and copier.
    • Drive an average vehicle independently.
    • May be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
    • Perform detailed data collection, recording and reporting in handwriting and typing.
    • Complete required training as defined in the Emmaus Employee Training Curriculum, within the Emmaus timeline.

Job Requirements/Desired Education/or Experience :
    • High school diploma required.
    • 2+ years’ experience conducting inquiries, investigations, and reporting in any of the following or related fields required; Human Services, Social Services, Human Resources, Crimes against persons, school settings.
    • 2+ years’ experience working for the Department of Mental Health (DMH) or in the developmental disabilities industry preferred.
    • Valid and current driver’s license Driver’s license and current insurance required.
    • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office 365 products and electronic record keeping systems required.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Pay: $55,000 - $60,000 : based on experience
