Job Title: Quality Control & Operations Department: Operations and Quality
Reports To: Warehouse Manager Effective Date: Immediate

Job Summary:

Established and growing national fresh produce importer and distributor has immediate opening for

Quality Control & Warehouse Operations at its Schiller Park, IL Distribution Center. Position entails quality control and inspection of incoming shipments, training and supervision of distribution center staff for GMP and HACCP, overseeing distribution center procedures and compliance with third party audits, providing feedback to domestic and international growers, and entering & reviewing data and reports. Responsibilities:

• Complete quality inspections on all incoming product
• Notify management if quality specifications are out of range and or any food safety issues are found
• E-mail quality inspection to appropriate supplier group
• Notify suppliers of quality issues
• Conduct evaluations on new varieties, packing material, shelf life of product
• Cooler inventory and product management
• Oversee shipping and receiving operations
• Cross train to provide support for the company’s food safety program

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Minimum of two years’ experience in perishable quality control and handling
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Ability to function well in high paced and at times stressful environment
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
• Written and oral communication in both Spanish and English

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
