Quality Assurance Technician’s primary mission is to represent the interests and present the voice of the customer (VoC) within the plant. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and organization.

This position is a 8 hour shift Monday – Friday (6am-2pm).
Responsibilities:

  • Review schedule and prepare checklists.
  • Interpret job tickets and technical specifications and determining required quality standards.
  • Perform in-process checks including (but not limited to)
    • Print quality
    • Color accuracy
    • Lamination bonds
    • Coefficient of Friction
    • Gas Chromatography
    • Heat seals
  • Identify and contain all non-conforming material including supplied material.
  • Communicate with operators and shift supervisors findings / trends.
  • Perform final verification.
  • Prepare and distribute Certificates of Analysis
  • Provide support to manufacturing in problem solving activities.
  • Manage filing of records and retain samples.
  • Report safety near misses and observations
  • Conduct auditing:
    • Product Safety
    • Pin-point Quality
    • Effectiveness reviews
  • Maintain work area and equipment following prescribed safety instructions.
  • Provide communication and periodic reports as directed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of six sigma principles preferred.
  • Knowledge of current ISO 9001 standard and/or SQF code preferred
  • Objective listening skills and strong organizational skills
  • Works well independently and in a group
  • Capable of, and commit to follow the plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines and ISO procedures
  • ERP experience a plus
  • Able to work overtime as required
