QA Test Lead
Hybrid, New Haven - CT
Compensation Range : $52-$58/hour

The QA Test Lead will work closely with functional units to identify practical and scalable solutions for effective testing strategies, drawing from an extensive knowledge of interpreting process mapping, design, and requirements documentation. This role will interface and collaborate with peers within the organization to support quality assurance best practices, business process and systems configuration improvements, product enhancements, maintenance changes with established turnaround times and service levels, etc.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and drive test strategies for targeted applications while maintaining and suggesting improvements to the QA process and practice.
  • Lead supplemental test plan reviews with peers, developers, and product team members and resourcing discussions, in addition to having a solid understanding of the business and roadmaps.
  • Work closely with the various project teams across the organization to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements pertaining to the testing deliverables
  • Contributes to guidelines, best practices, and standards relative to delivery, configuration, and support of the SaaS platforms. Provides technical and analytical support in configuring and testing SaaS systems of moderate to large size.
  • Conduct thorough, in-depth root cause analysis to help identify issues and provide well thought-out recommendations for proposed business process and systems configuration improvements, where warranted.
  • Understand and utilize risk-based testing techniques.
  • Work, with minimal supervision, with a nearshore testing team to support the manual, automation and performance testing needs for complex projects across multiple business units in the organization.
  • Participate in projects throughout the SDLC with the emphasis on Shift Left approach to develop a deeper understanding and knowledge of the requirements and solutions early on in the lifecycle.
  • Host the defect triage meetings with project teams during test execution & coordinate the UAT testing activities.
  • Establish, document, and enhance QA processes train team members on those processes.
  • Continually improve the testing infrastructure, tools, and processes.
  • Perform system analysis and configuration of the system to meet functional, technical and user requirements.
  • Define and configure user permissions to ensure appropriate level of system access and maintain authorized user groups and lists.
Skills / Experience You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience. 10+ years related experience in Software Quality Assurance, process analysis, and configuration of medium-to-large applications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to provide support through troubleshooting, enhancements, and best practices development.
  • Knowledge of and experience with utilizing SDLC and related various methodologies such as Agile, in planning the quality assurance (i.e., use of rigorous documentation, testing, and quality assurance protocols pre- and post-deployment).
  • Experience with SQL, Automation and other test management or collaboration tools.
  • Proven strong contributor and analytical thinker with excellent verbal/written communication skills and high motivation to learn new technologies in a collaborative environment. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate meetings. In addition, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of the full software/application development cycle, particularly in an iterative environment: process analysis, process design, configuration, testing, release, maintenance, and the ability to document requirements. Proven ability to configure SaaS/PaaS solutions.
  • Interested in creating a culture around data, collaboration, and creativity while rapidly learning new technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, problem resolution and customer service.
  • Strong documentation and time-management skills.
