Corbion is seeking a Quality Manager for our site in Totowa, NJ, reporting to the Plant Director. As a member of the Site Leadership Team, this position manages a QC Supervisor, QA Manager and QA/QC personnel in distribution centers. In this role, you will ensure the quality process (critical process characteristics, HACCP, food safety, audits, and complaint resolutions, meet or exceed industry standards. Additionally, this position will provide leadership to laboratory employees engaged in the conversion of flour based raw materials into dry blended finished products containing varying degrees of secondary ingredients. Of critical importance is a complete understanding that manufacturing is responsible for consistently delivering within the following areas: cost & productivity, consumer perceived quality & regulatory compliance, customer service, and people development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all company policies, GMP's, FSMA, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Maintain focus on the customer, teamwork, and quality productivity.
• Give recommendations to improve workplace safety, efficiency, and to better serve the customer.
• Ensure proper customer contacts are made and maintained whenever existing or new products require customer input. Provide support services to customers for gauging, measuring techniques and tolerance specifications.
• Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over the quality of raw materials, facilities, products and processes.
• Support coordination of Quality Assurance Systems to ensure safety, legality and quality of the food product, as well as compliance to customer requirements.
• Oversee training and competency evaluation of the quality workforce in techniques and tools to ensure product requirements.
• Conduct process and equipment validations and provide input to the Sanitation Department to maintain the overall sanitation of the plant.
• Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

REQUIRMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) Business, Engineering, Food Science, or similar field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a quality role, preferably in food programs.
• Working knowledge of GMP’s, Food Safety, LAF, RSPO, Halal, Organic and SPC.
• Exposure to GFSI initiatives, GMA Safe, BRC and other industry standards as well as TPM environment.
• Certifications in HACCP, Internal Auditor, Food Defense and PCQI.
• Travel and on-call availability are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Manufacturing plant is large, open floor areas with loud machinery, with some areas requiring hearing protection due to elevated noise levels.Production/Warehouse areas are dusty.
• Workers may be exposed to elevated temperatures during the summer months; and some work may be required in cold environments during winter months.
• Workers are required to wear GMP compliant hair and beard nets, dust masks may be used at times if exposed to dusty environments.
• Able to Occasionally lift up to 55 pound bags and boxes,
• Climbing, bending, balancing, lifting, stooping, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
