This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly enthusiastic, experienced and driven Programme Test Manager. With full accountability for the delivery of Testing you will be looked upon as an expert in QA activities, a confident, capable individual who will act as a single point of contact for the Release Leads within the Asda Future programme, as well as being a senior member of the Quality Assurance Management Team

You will report directly to the Head Of Quality Assurance.

This role will take full accountability for testing deliverables across the current Future programme Release. The role holder will need to work closely alongside the following QA areas:

  • Functional Test Management
  • Non-Functional Test Management
  • Automation Management
  • Defect Management
  • Environmental Management
  • Our strategic QA partners

Furthermore the role requires close working with the Service Assurance Function developing a OAT Strategy and embedding best practice in Acceptance Testing across multiple workstreams, and ensuring QA Management Wraparound of User Acceptance Testing of any new of changes products and services.

Your Role

  • Manage a comprehensive schedule with volumes and timescales that enables suppliers to translate requirements into deliverables.
  • Develop quality criteria to measure progress and drive continuous improvement processes so we adopt a right first-time approach
  • Single Point of contact for all Testing activities (Func / Performance / UAT / OAT / Environments / Automation)
  • Working directly with QA Functional Test Managers
  • Working directly with QA Performance Test Managers
  • Working directly with QA Environments Managers
  • Working directly with QA Automation Manager
  • Working directly with the Service Assurance team to conduct OAT
  • Provides QA Management Wraparound for UAT, to include Methodology, process, Reporting and Defect Management
  • Working closely with the Above roles to ensure that any new or changes to Product & Services undergo mandatory Acceptance Testing (UAT / OAT) activities before being transitioned into Live.
  • Planning and co-ordination of the OAT tests, including selecting the test approaches, estimates the time, effort and cost of testing, acquiring resources and defining test levels and cycles.
  • Building relationships with Operational stakeholders and gaining an extensive knowledge of the business in which they work.
  • Helping reduce any overhead by creating repeatable OAT and UAT test scenarios, test cases that can be reused or automated.
  • Assessing and mitigating any OAT risks.
  • Introduction of key test metrics and KPIs used for measuring test progress and outcome (for continual improvement)
  • Working closely with Transition team, making sure that UAT and OAT is embedded in the overall service Acceptance criteria.
  • Working with Change Management team to help improve the quality and stability of services being introduced into the production environment.
  • Works closely with Business Analysts and Service Design team, identifying area of the service that will require Acceptance testing.
  • Identifying and removing any inefficiencies in the Acceptance testing process. Continues to improve the quality of UAT and OAT strategy, processes, procedures.
  • Providing test evidence/test reports on the outcome of UAT and OAT test phases

About You

  • Great Stakeholder Management Experience.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • High Skilled/Experienced QA Test Manager with a strong track record of building long lasting sustainable relationships with the Business areas.
  • Experience in Retail IT background
  • An excellent stakeholder manager you will have demonstrable experience managing varied technical and business expectations and priorities.
  • Previous experience working commercially with IT partners and software vendors - on, near and offshore.
