Job description
Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Python /Django Developer to work the Security Applications Team under the Network & Infrastructure Engineering – Engineering & Security Services (NIE-ESS) group. This team is responsible for managing various commercial off the shelf (COTS) and in-house developed security applications for the laboratory.
The successful candidate will support the Terminus application, an in-house developed enterprise solution that tracks and documents systems on the network, performs vulnerability scans on hosts, and blocks hosts from the network based on a complex set of compliance and vulnerability checks. In this role you will learn the Terminus application and help maintain and develop Terminus and other in-house developed tools.
- Build robust, performant, user-facing web applications in Python/Django supporting a critical security application
- Develop, create, and ship new functionality for user interaction and scientific data visualization, using modern APIs and frameworks
- Work as an integral part of an agile product team to deliver an unbelievably great user experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, relevant experience is applicable.
- U.S. citizenship is required per Contract to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Q level DOE Security Clearance
- Demonstrated advanced experience with web development technologies including Django, Bootstrap, Rest API
- Experience writing and debugging Python scripts
- Experience in the design and development of sophisticated, modern web applications and services
- Should be self-initiated, intuitive, and possesses technical and business acumen
- Understanding of accessibility and security compliance {{depending on the specific project}}
- Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
