Public Health Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to support the work of public health in Tower Hamlets, which has some of the most significant public health challenges in the country. The role will involve working with local communities, the council and wider partners in the NHS, community pharmacy, university settings and the voluntary sector to improve health outcomes and address health inequalities in Tower Hamlets.

We are looking for an experienced and public health competent professional to join our friendly team to deliver a programme of work that supports the health and wellbeing of young adults (18+) in Tower Hamlets and enables the following aspirations for healthy young adults:

· Life skills for health and wellbeing through critical life stages e.g., leaving home, employment, social and sexual relationships, parenthood

• Good emotional health and resilience with foundations for lifelong mental wellbeing
• Positive health habits built into daily life
• Freedom from behaviours harmful to health including tobacco, alcohol, and substance misuse
• Good outcomes through early identification of need and access to early help
• Freedom from abuse and neglect
