The Counseling Department at Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS), an agency of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Part-Time.

Responsibilities:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will focus on providing psychiatric clinical care to established and new clients of JFCS.

  • Clinical services will primarily include psychiatric and medication management in coordination with supervising physician psychiatrist.
  • Treat patients either virtually or on-site and for performing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
  • Make recommendations for medication and medical management.
  • Consult as needed with a supervising physician psychiatrist for patient case consultation and oversight.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Required Licenses/ Certificates/Registrations:
    • Advanced Nurse Practitioner, MSN with licensure in the state of NJ
    • Valid United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) & Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) Licenses
  • Required Education & Experience:
    • Masters-level Degree or higher
    • Two years’ experience working with psychiatric patients in psychiatric settings (outpatient experience preferred)
    • Preferred Education & Experience:
      • Trauma informed therapy training
      • Available to work at least one evening per week
      • Credentialed with commercial insurances is a plus
  • Additional Technical Requirements:
    • Competency in EHR and e-prescribing
    • Knowledge of standard and newer medication usage for a variety of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, and chronic mental illness.
    • Knowledge of NJ state laws and requirements associated with psychiatric services.
    • Clean record of practice - The practitioner must have no active legal disputes or investigations against their license.
    • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Schedule:

  • This is a part time position (approximately 4 hours per week); with potential for growth in hours up to full time.
