Job Description

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).

Network2Work@PVCC identifies individuals left behind in our economy and connects them to quality careers that pay family-sustaining wages. Using custom-built technology, Network2Work@PVCC aligns three networks: the employer network, a job-seeker network and the resource provider network. The framework relies on a robust “provider network” to help job-seekers left behind in our economy connect to resources that help them overcome barriers to employment. The Provider Network Coordinator creates processes and builds relationships with community-based organizations and agencies to provide resources to individuals who are pursuing careers paying family-sustaining wages.

The Provider Network Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with community-based resource providers who can help job-seekers overcome obstacles to employment. The Provider Network Coordinator will also help job-seekers on an individual basis overcome obstacles to employment as they arise. As such, the Provider Network Coordinator should have a good understanding of the services available to job-seekers in the PVCC region and have connections to support services through the college, community-based organizations and human service agencies. The Provider Network Coordinator will also manage the fleet of loaner vehicles which are provided to job-seekers for up to six months when they don’t have another means of necessary transportation. A collaborative approach to work is a must.
