Job Summary and Responsibilities

The project superintendent is responsible for the employment and supervision of job labor and job activities to ensure job schedules are completed on time and within budget. The project superintendent maintains effective relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and others related to the job; assures safe working conditions; obtains necessary service and facilities for job start-up and demobilization; manages job-related equipment and job-bought materials. Works as a team member with a project manager, assistant superintendent, and project coordinator and manages all subcontractor's schedules on the job.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for assuring that safe working conditions exist on the job site in compliance with appropriate governmental safety standards and company safety programs and policies are enforced
• Responsible for efficient employment of job labor and equipment to ensure a minimum of costs and maintain projects within budget. Assures adequate supervision is given to job labor
• Investigates and recommend improvements in work methods and materials
• Responsible for initiating and maintaining positive relationships with owners, architects, consulting engineers, and others related to the job to ensure good communication and rapport. Make proper and timely information available to the above persons to keep them informed and to assure a high degree of credibility and confidence
• Assures that subcontractor crews are sufficiently manned and schedules crews to ensure proper workflow
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining equitable business-like relationships between the company and subcontractors and suppliers and assuring their performance as required

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• 5+ years experience as a lead project superintendent for a general commercial contractor with heavy tilt-wall experience for ground-up big-box retail, industrial, and distribution projects. Experience in hospitality is also a plus
• Intermediate computer skills and knowledge using Microsoft Office, Spectrum, Procore, and iPad.
• Has thorough knowledge of construction methods and an understanding of blueprints and specifications
• Strong ability to supervise employees and job activities
• A high school diploma is required
• Valid drivers license required
• OSHA 30 Certification
• CPR/First Aid Certification
